Chris Taylor, chairman - president - evangelist

Chris was born in 1961. He became a Christian in 1970. In 2002 Chris formed Santa Cruz Christian Ministries, Inc. He has a passion for sharing the Good News message of the Bible with others, and sees himself first as a servant to Christ Jesus. Chris is the spokesperson on our television commercials, and he runs the day to day operations at the ministry with his wife Shana (see below). Chris also regularly teaches fellow Christians how to share their faith in Christ Jesus with nonbelievers.

By profession, Chris is a home loan mortgage broker. He started his own mortgage company in 1985 and still serves as its President. Chris graduated from San Jose State University and went on to complete 3 years of law school. He is a former member of the Mountain View Police Department, and later served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for the Placer County Sheriff's Department. Chris is also a licensed Real Estate Broker, a licensed Private Investigator and a certified PADI scuba diving instructor.

Shana Taylor, secretary - treasurer - vice president

Shana was born in 1966. She became a Christian in 1991. In 2002 Shana co-founder Santa Cruz Christian Ministries, Inc. with her husband Chris (see above). Shana helps run the day to day operations of the ministry with her husband Chris. Shana also regularly teaches fellow Christians how to share their faith in Christ Jesus with nonbelievers. Shana has served God in several ministries to date.

By profession, Shana is a mortgage broker and works along side her husband Chris running their home loan mortgage company. After attending college Shana obtained her Real Estate Broker's license.

Art de Werk, adviser

Art was born in 1954. He became a Christian in high school. Art looks towards Christ Jesus daily as the source for guidance in his life. Art’s profession affords him unique opportunities to cast Christianity in a positive light. Whether he’s writing his weekly newspaper column, or acting as a community leader, Art constantly seeks new opportunities to proclaim Christ Jesus’ glory.

By profession, Art is the Director of Public Safety (i.e., the Police Chief and the Fire Chief) for Ceres, California. Prior to that he was the Director of Public Safety for Casper, Wyoming. And prior to that he was a Police Captain for the City of Palo Alto, California. Art holds two Master degrees and one Bachelor degree. He is also a certified USUA ultralight flying instructor, and a certified PADI scuba diving instructor. Art has been married to his wife Jill for over a decade.

Gary Jones, ambassador

Gary was born in 1946. He became a Christian in 1955. Gary strives to share the Gospel in a simple yet biblically correct way, that shows the path to God is through His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gary retired from the heavy equipment construction business over a decade ago. Since then he’s been a personal fitness trainer here in Santa Cruz County. Gary has been married to his wife Melody for over 35 years. They have one son, one daughter, two grandsons and three granddaughters.

Gary Lewis, adviser

Gary was born in 1947. He became a Christian in 1954. After 15 years as a police officer, Gary suffered an on the job injury that led to his retirement as a police sergeant. Since 1983 Gary has served as a senior pastor in various churches. He served 4 years as a full time missionary in El Salvador. And, he served 2 years as the Chief Police Chaplain for all the police agencies in Placer County, California.

Gary is currently a full time missionary serving in Mexico. He is also the President of Marketplace Missions Incorporated, a nonprofit organization that serves Christ Jesus with a special focus on Latin America and Mexico. He has one Bachelor degree, one Master degree, and one Doctorate degree. Gary has been married to his wife Karen for over 35 years. They have three sons, one grandson and two granddaughters.
